The black and white Pied Cormorant can often be seen holding its non waterproof wings out to dry as it perches on a dead tree, boat or pole.

They mainly feed alone, mostly in coastal waters, by diving underwater for fish, prawns and crabs.

The female Pied Cormorant builds a platform nest using sticks collected by the male.
